Robert L. Drake, 85, of McConnelsville, Ohio and Zolfo Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home in Florida surrounded by his family on October 27, 2023. Bob was born on August 26, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio. He was a retired truck driver for Mid Atlantic and a member of Teamsters #637. He was an avid golfer and fan of Nascar, dirt track racing and Ohio State Football. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from Jan 30, 1956 - Jan 30, 1959. Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2187, The American Legion Post #24, The Moose Lodge #2317, all of McConnelsville, Ohio and The Elks Lodge #2025 of Arcadia Florida. Bob is survived by his wife of 24 years, Carolyn Drake, his constant companion Oreo, daughter Bobbi Jo (Scott) Miller, son Jimi Drake, step children Kirk Kennard, Kristi (Trevor) Baker, and Kim (Bill) Bolden. His grandchildren Amanda, Haleigh and Daniel Miller, Danielle Miller, Angel (Robert) Davis, Lindsay (Jacob) Gates, Erin Kennard, Abby Baker, Hannah Brooks and Emily Aragon. His step great grandchildren Rylee and Gabriel. Sisters Meris (Punch) Browne, Beth (Andy) Kastle and Kerry (Charlie) McGinnis, his niece Pam (Dan) Browne and nephews Jack (Julia) Carnes and Derek (Amber) Carnes. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Eloise Drake and a step grandson Jeremy Miller. The family would like to thank Bob's care team from VITAS Hospice, his angels on earth, Cheryl, Chris, Sandra, Chaplin Rick, LaToya and Michelle for their love and support. Memorial contributions in Bob's name can be made to VITAS Hospice, (Team 233) 115 S.
