Robert G Mayle

Robert “Bob” G. Mayle, 80 of Chesterhill, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020.  He was born on April 3, 1940 in Amesville to the late Luther Mayle and Erma Crippen Mayle.  He married Gloria Lee Croston on April 26, 1961.  Bob was a hard working laborer and retired from the Laborers Local #639 in Marietta in 1997.  He was proud of his 50 year membership.  He coached many men, women and children in softball and baseball for many years.  He loved to play horseshoes and he also like to deer hunt with his son, brothers and buddies.  In the summer you could always find him working in his garden, mowing the lawn, probably while singing “Running Bear”.  He enjoyed cookouts and holidays surrounded by his family.  He was proud of all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He never met a stranger and helped anyone, friends and family alike.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Russell, Dan, David and Marion and Sister Delores Mayle.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years Gloria, children, Barbara, Tonya, Rex and Ginger Mayle and special niece Lisa Maria Mayle.  Grandchildren, Brittany, Andrew, Kelsey and Keliegh Mayle and Lynsey Norris.  Great grandchildren, Raq and Raegan Ponchak, Owen, Olivia and Addison Norris and Rosalind Jean Mayle.  Brothers, James (Jim) and John (Jock) Mayle.  Sisters, Shirley Carnes, Karen Robinson and Sharon Mayle-Evans and a whole host of nieces, nephews and special pets Honey and Spike.  A Private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following in the Chesterhill Cemetery.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
