Ronald D. Smith, 75, of Bartlett, passed away on April 24, 2022 at the Arbors of Marietta. He was born on July 18, 1946 in Fairplan, W.Va. to the late Carl and Mary Southall Smith. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired truck drive for Ashland Chemical in Twinsburg, Ohio. He was a member of the American Legion Post #389 of Beverly and loved to camp and spend time outdoors with his family and friends. He was a prankster and jokester loving to make people laugh. He is survived by 4 daughters, Robin Hupp of Arcadia, Fl, Kim (Tim) Rose of Lancaster, Tammy (Mike) Green of Vincent and Lori (Greg Cochran) Smith of Albany, 3 step-daughters, Kathy (Paul O’Donnell) Gossett of Belpre, Jane (Bryan) Casey of Belpre and Melissa (Rick) Kemper of Little Hocking, 2 brothers, Carl (Mary) Smith of Zanesville, Robert Smith of Belpre, 6 sisters, Glendola King of Barlow, Roberta (Greg) Hollingsworth of Grove City, Wreatha (Roger) Clester of Chesterhill, Joyce (Danny) Gage of Bartlett, Elaine (Rex) Roberts of Bartlett and Donna (Rusty) Richards of Bartlett, Brother-in-law, Stan Ullman of Bartlett, 20 grandchildren, Zachary and Joshua Hupp, Maranda Wells, Nathan and Sara Wells, Austin Wells, Dylan and Shelby Green, Devin Green and Ronnie Green, Lindsey and Joe Lizer, Emily and Jake Dennison, Matthew Gossett, Micaela Moat, Henry Cochran, Troy Sampson, Tyler Sampson, Taylor Sampson and Tiffany Sampson, Benji Casey, Ryan and Mikenna Kemper and Derick Kemper and 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters, Mary Smith and Roena Ullman. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill. Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the services.
