Wilford Eugene "Gene" Frash, 78, of McConnelsville, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tues, May 17, 2022. He was born on June 4, 1943 in Sharpsburg, Ohio to the late Wilford and Mabel Thompson Frash. He graduated from Windsor High School and then proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam where he received the Silver Star. He was a self-employed Mechanic. He was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church, American Legion Post # 24 in McConnelsville, VFW Post #4713 and the DAV both of Malta. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betsy Hoskinson Frash of the home,, 3 daughters, Lisa Ann (Darren) Markins of Union, Karen Lynn (Dale) Shuster of Fairborn and Barbara Jean (Tony) Patterson of McConnelsville, a brother Kenneth (Susie) Frash of Gallipolis, 3 sisters, Wilma (Clarence) Lamp of Zanesville, Dixie Shinn of Zanesville and Mary Webb of Malta, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Angela Frash and a brother, Mark Frash. Services will be held on Fri, May 20, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Malta Bible Church with burial following in the Pisgah Ridge Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thurs, May 19 from 5-8 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville and 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
