Obituary for Donald S. Holland

Donald S. Holland, 84, of Stockport, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 16, 1934 in Wesley Township to the late Smith and Chlorus Keffer Holland. He worked as an Inspector for ODOT Dist. 10 in Marietta and loved to farm. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church near Patton’s Mill and attended Oakland United Methodist Church near Stockport. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and attending his grand kids sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janet Spencer Holland of the home, 2 sons, Donald (Barbara) Holland of Stockport and James (Shelia) Holland of Point Pleasant, TX, 3 daughters, Sonja Holland of Stockport, Rebecca (David) Cordray of Chandlersville and Darla (Joe) Waite of Stockport, a brother, Dana Holland of Beverly, a sister, Janet Antill of Marietta, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerle Holland. Services will be held on Friday, May, 3, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor David Miller officiating. Friends may call on the family on Thursday, May, 2 from 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stockport United Methodist Church.
